Raja Ampat Archipelago located in the West Papua Province of Indonesia is a unique place that every freediver dreams about! This is officially the richest reef in the world. You can see 75% of all known coral species in the world, many fish species, marine mammals, sharks, manta rays, turtles, etc. There is no other place on the Earth where freedivers can enjoy the richness of the underwater world! The landscapes of Raja Ampat are unique and scenic as well.
Taking a path from Bali island towards the East, travelers will find themselves on the western tip of New Guinea island, in the West Papua province of Indonesia. Words can not really describe the pleasure of what you will have as a freediver while diving there: go out of your bungalow, walk to the shore, put on your mask and snorkel, put on the fins and you are ready to enjoy the richest underwater jungles. You even don’t need to go far from your homestay, the home reef is a wonderful spot already: sharks, humpheads, several species of rays, gracious mantas, turtles, dugongs, dolphins… all of them enjoying life among coral gardens colored in all known colors. The trip to these islands in the middle of nowhere is an unforgettable experience and something that can be told to children and grandchildren. We will spend ten days on 2 different remote islands doing freediving training and exploring the underwater life of Raja Ampat as well as the land wonders of the archipelago.

We are happy to welcome experienced freedivers as well as beginners because training programs will be planned according to your physical form and freediving experience. During the trip, we will learn the art of freediving given by experienced instructors for you to use the new knowledge and skills later in some of the best dive sites in the world. You will enjoy being underwater and interacting with the thousands of sea creatures that we will see.
No special skills are needed to participate in the trip!
Therefore, even if you are not familiar with freediving but curious about your capabilities to naturally hold your breath underwater, this trip can become a unique opportunity to learn freediving and build a connection with the water.

Also, we invite you to learn to freedive or gain more freediving experience with us on Nusa Penida before the trip!
If you have not tried it before you may learn all the basics for freediving in our basic course. If you are already a certified freediver you can join us for training or take advanced courses and better prepare yourself for the trip.
We have an experienced guide on our team, who has spent years in Indonesia, speaks fluent Indonesian, knows a lot about the social and cultural history of this huge country, and understands locals as people of his own country. We will also make our trip to be a journey into Indonesian culture and the local’s everyday life.

Day 1
Early morning flight from Bali to Sorong.
Transfer to the harbor.
Private speed boat transfer to Kri island, the place which will be our home for the next few days. Check-in in the homestay.

Our homestay’s jetty reaches a distance of 50m out of the shore where 10-30 m depth is already available. There are a couple of hundred meters of the home reef, stretching along the coast. It is a perfect spot for your first discoveries into the underwater world of the archipelago.
At the end of the day we’ll have a group meeting to introduce the program.
Day 2-6
Every day we will start with yoga and breathing practices.

In the afternoons we will be exploring dive sites around Kri Island and the nearest Mansuar. There are plenty of them around: Cape Kri, Mioskon Reef, Friwen, Mike’s Point, Yenbuba, Sawandarek, and more.

Evenings we will spend in the homestay café discussing the bright impressions of the day, sharing emotions, playing board games, or watching freedive videos.
Day 7
After breakfast, we have a transfer to Arborek Island where we will spend the next 3 days. Walking around the island and watching the beautiful sunset together. Freediving on the beautiful reefs around Arborek.

Day 8
Today we will travel to Pianemo island to check out the famous, beautiful karst islands. On the way, we will stop by several spots to dive into the amazing and very diverse reefs of the archipelago.

Freediving with Manta Rays!
The dive site is located not far away from Arborek. We will have this possibility to freedive with these lovely gentle giants.

In the afternoon we will have fun diving around Arborek.
Day 10
Final morning yoga and snorkeling on the house reef.
Lunch.
Private speedboat to Sorong. Check-in at the hotel.
Dinner together and sharing impressions of the trip.
Day 11
Flight back to Bali.
The end of a long and unforgettable journey.

Booking and Payment
To book your freediving trip we ask you to pay a deposit of IDR 10.000.000. This deposit is non-refundable unless the trip will be canceled from our side. The remaining payment can be made via PayPal, Wise, card or in cash (USD or IDR using the exchange rate on the day of payment).
Full payment is due 14 days before the start of the trip.
Cancellations and Refund
For cancellations by customers, a cancellation fee of IDR 10.000.000 applies. For cancellations 14 days before the start of the trip, we will refund payments above this amount.
To run the trip a minimum number of bookings of 8 customers will be necessary.
Up to 14 days in advance of the start date Freedive Nusa will be able to cancel the trip. In this case, a full refund of all payments will be given to customers. With your booking you agree, that Freedive Nusa will not be held liable for any other travel arrangements made by customers, including but not limited to flights and transportation bookings, reservations for accommodation, etc.
Itinerary changes
Sailing itineraries and daily programs are subject to change due to weather and sea conditions, availability of safe anchorage, government regulations, and other factors. Every effort will be made to carry out the program as planned. Program changes may take place during the cruise to take advantage of local cultural events, to adapt to sailing conditions, or in response to other factors. Only if the duration of the trip or event is adversely affected shall Freedive Nusa refund the difference between the agreed tour price and the services actually provided.
